PrivateKit MIT is a privacy-focused app that enables users to record their GPS trails on their personal devices. Unlike many other apps, PrivateKit prioritizes protecting user privacy by storing all data locally and never sharing it with anyone, including the app developers or MIT, unless users explicitly choose to export the data themselves. Notably, the location log created by Private Kit remains entirely inaccessible from outside the user's device. This feature ensures that users maintain full control over their sensitive location information at all times.

In addition to its robust privacy measures, Private Kit offers a convenient and user-friendly experience. The app allows users to effortlessly import and export their location data, allowing for seamless integration with other projects and applications.

The trail generator feature of Private Kit logs the user's device location at five-minute intervals, requiring minimal storage space of under 100KB for a span of 28 days. This compact data footprint is even smaller than that of a single photograph, demonstrating the efficiency and resourcefulness of the app.

To function optimally, Private Kit requires access to your device's location and motion tracking sensors. These permissions are necessary for the app to accurately record and track your trails throughout various activities.
